February Session

This session's prompt was:

What ways would you like to work with others (if at all)?
What would your ideal timing (Crip time), needs and connection look like?

One of or participants shared his experience of fasting for Ramadan and about the film festival he has put together, and which will be held in four different venues around Lewes and Brighton this June (2026).

The Neurodivergent Tender Map.

We had a low turn out for this session due to illness, fatigue, overload and other commitments. However, we used the time to begin putting together the components of our Neurodivergent Tender Map, with creative components built up over the last 6 months.

Recalling our very first session, the ‘Tender Map’  initial idea came from Alice Maddicott's book, Tender Maps about her research and travels, exploring atmosphere and emotion, history and lived experience.

Making our own creative Tender Map seemed like an ideal vehicle for connection, to create with each other and to share knowledge and lived experiences/. We called it a Neurodivergent Tender Map.
After 6 sessions the map now compromises fantastical, whimsical, intuitive wordless constructions showing where lack of knowledge by Arts gatekeepers can make equal access difficult, and showing what is needed for Neurodivergent and/or disabled artists and creatives to thrive.

It includes portals, a Basic Universal Income outcrop , islands of safety, an intuitive boat to the sea of calm and place names like Lower Cognitive Load Lake, Ableist Admin Abyss, Accommodation and Support bridges, the, Who Gives A Crap conga eel, Widen Perception Gates and grasslands, lands and spaces of whimsy, flying intuitive entities, a lighthouse and more!
